We’re proud of the quality of our training and we encourage our communities to support us in a very real and delicious way through dining at our training restaurants in Sale and Bairnsdale. We live in a region renowned for its high-quality produce and our chefs make best use of an incredible array of local goods.
Café Rossi in Sale and The Oaktree in Bairnsdale are first-class training restaurants and are open to the public. You can book for lunch, dinner or just a relaxing drink or a coffee with friends and enjoy great food and wine in a relaxed setting with attentive staff.
Through our restaurants we participate in a range of catering provide in the local community to provide event-based opportunitiesfor our hospitality students to have some fun and showcase their skills.
The Oaktree is open for lunch Wednesday to Friday and regularly hosts a ‘foods of the world’ buffet dinner. It is available for private functions for any occasion. The light-filled restaurant is based at 48 Main Street, Bairnsdale, and bookings can be made on (03) 5152 0741.
We also offer industry training at Café Rossi through a range of short courses for leisure interests, or for those starting out in the hospitality industry, as well as for kitchen staff seeking more advanced and specialised skills.
Come in for a warm welcome and a relaxed meal, where new chef Lizzie Payne, has developed a menu full of delicious Mediterranean-style cuisine:
- fresh pasta and housemade sauces, delicious pizzas and tasting plates for sharing
- terrific-value takeaway: gourmet meals for when you want to stay in, but eat great food
- an innovative choice: you can buy our readymade dinners to cook at home, $20 for two
